Why are you a member of the WWF?

I have recently embarked on a journey down a new and exciting career path and have been very fortunate to meet and work with a group of amazing women who have supported me along the way.  The contribution they have made to this transition, assuring me I can do anything I set my mind to and helping me become confident in this new space has been invaluable.  Being a member of the WWF committee gives me an opportunity to inspire and support other women in my community to also achieve their goals and dreams.

What are you most looking forward to about being on the committee?

I am really looking forward to working with a bunch of incredible women who, in a very short space of time, have already made a significant contribution to the growth of young women in the Waikato.  I can’t wait to be part of the team continuing to make these positive changes.

What has been a special moment you've experienced through the work of the WWF?

I have only just joined the committee but am sure there will be many of these to come. I am really looking forward to working with the team on the planning and delivery of the Waahine Toa in March!

  • Favourite local cafe and order of choice: Machina – it’s just across the road from work and the crew there are great.  Trim flat white and a sneaky nibbly bit sized piece of slice or two.

  • Who is an inspirational woman you look up to? I am a bit of a closet TED talk addict so there have been many women who have both inspired me and played a role in my personal and professional development.  Courage and vulnerability have risen to the surface of late so have loved the work Brene Brown has contributed to this thinking.

  • Favourite place to visit in the Waikato? I live by the lake and spent a lot of time there as a child.  I now spend lots of time there with my wee boy  - its like an extension of our backyard and the scoop ice cream is still as good as I remember.

  • Hidden talent? I like to be a bit crafty in my spare time so you will often find a sewing machine on the dining room table or some cake decorating creation happening in my kitchen.
